Oven BBQ chicken

OVEN BBQ CHICKEN:

This is a recipe combined by my mom and sister Diane that we used to have a lot at home.  Everyone loved it and it's really easy to put together besides, which I love.  You can either put it in the oven or cook it over the day in the crockpot.  You also can use pretty much any cut of chicken.  I've used a cut up whole chicken, wings, drumsticks and yesterday used boneless thighs.  the sauce goes a long ways so one batch works for any of these sizes.  

OVEN BBQ CHICKEN:

In a medium sized saucepan combine the following:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp yellow mustard
1/4 cup cider vinegar (although yesterday I forgot it and liked it)
1 cup catsup
1 tsp. worchestershire sauce 
1/4 of a yellow onion finely chopped
1 larger can of whole tomatoes, skin removed and any hard parts, squashed or chopped 

(heat in a saucepan and simmer together while you prep your chicken)

wash and clean your chicken you chose, pat dry and place in a cake pan that fits the amount you are making..I used a 9 x 9 yesterday because I only make a smaller pack of the thighs.  I'd use a 9 x 13 though for a whole batch of chicken pieces.  

Pour the sauce over the pices evenly and pop in the oven.  Bake for 350 degrees.  You can turn up the heat the last 15 minutes to brown it a little more if needed, to 375.
